Maintenance.
I believe it was Cass Turnball who said, there is no such thing as a no-maintenance yard. In the urban environment I also have found this to be mostly true. If a low-maintenance yard is what you want, we can incorporate this into design services.
Much of my design work came from years of maintaining yards. I still like to labor in yards before concluding design plans, and I often maintain the outdoor experiences I help create. A lot of my work has been renovating overgrown and badly planted yards.
I don't use any power tools and encourage leaving leaf litter to support invertebrates, birds and other wildlife habitat.
I do not do lawns or hedges.
I will not use synthetic or chemical fertilizers, any pesticides or herbicides or work on sites where they are applied.
I like to work with maintenance on an as-needed schedule. Instead of manipulating a routine, I visit your yard when the work is necessary and most appropriately timed.
For pruning of large trees I refer you to an ISA certified arborist. I am unapologetically protective of trees and insist customers consult a professional tree risk assessor before considering removal. The benefits of trees reach far beyond a property line, therefore making one accountable to these far-reaching impacts.
